In ancient times, a crossing of roads was an extremely significant point of reference that was marked with stone cairns and wooden crosses. Certain Gods and Goddesses were believed to frequent such crossroads. The symbol of the cross predates Christianity by thousands of years and was, and is still, used to represent any transition of directions that one cares to. I have made this sculpt in honor of such turning points and crossroads in our lives.
